Last week we celebrated my 24th birthday. When I mean ‘we’ I am referring to my darling fiancé Joe, and my 3 toddlers Kiara, who is 3 years old and Elaina and Maliyah who are fraternal twins turning 2 in July. Anyway part of the birthday package was to get our courtyard semi covered, which included having proper flashing and corrugated roofing installed. The reason behind this is because I am just sick and tired of trying to feed 3 toddlers inside the house, its like trying to feed 3 those laughing clowns at the carnivals but my little clowns are alive and feeding time can get MESSY and really messy.

That reminds me our poor vacuum cleaner is away getting serviced because her motor died on me while I was doing my routine vacuum of the house which is completely dominated by toddlers. Some how a little yellow plastic sauce bottle from their little kitchen got sucked up the steel tube and chocked my very reliable vacuum and so I needed to drop her off at Godfreys, the professionals to bring her back to life.

So back to the courtyard, once it was all finished I put together a little portable table from office works and four black chairs from Kmart and there, our beautiful little nook overlooking my father-in-law’s garden. And yes we are the real life Everybody loves Raymond family. Something to do with being outside being amongst the plants brought so much joy and profound sense of relief and wellness.

The next day, I thought it would be a wonderful new idea to TRY a new way of getting three toddlers to sit still and eat breakfast without any distractions. So I pulled out a baking tray placed three plastic cups and three plates with breakfast on it and told the girls we are going outside to eat.

As soon as I put the girls up on their own big chair and put their breakfast in front of them something magical happen. The girls ate like little people not crazy toddlers running around with food in their hands, playing with a toy with the other, or smudging peanut butter in their hair and face, on the television and all over the furniture and carpet. Instead, they were all just admiring the greenery and hearing the different morning sounds of the cars going over the speed bumps, the birds tweeting and the builders making a racket a couple of blocks down.

It was the moment that girls taught me something so simple but we forget so easily; to be present, to be mindful and to actually notice the little things, just like a child does.

It was this realisation, that I thought to myself that when was the last time that I actually took a moment from my beautifully chaotic life and breathe and just be me, not a mother, not a partner but just me.

So it this beautiful garden view and having a sacred place for me to think and breathe in the fresh autumn air that I wanted to start writing, my journey to wellness, personal growth and a tool to start healing myself by giving back some energy to change myself for the better because I am worth it. I want to try new things and be forever evolving into the woman that I aspire to be. I hope that allowing myself to write often will help me to explore my fears, my self doubts, my primal wounds. To blog and overwrite my hurdles and the inner battles and struggles I face within myself as a young mother and woman. I am hungry to pursue happiness and keep on embracing life one day at a time, never giving up on my hopes and dreams not only as a mother.

I AM READY.... xx
